Stemming from bassist/vocalist Margaret McCarthy's original ideas, Chicago outfit Moontype quickly morphed into a trio after guitarist Ben Cruz and drummer Emerson Hunton heard the tracks. Now gearing up for the release of their debut album Bodies of Water, 'About You' is the energetic second single from it. Having described their sound well via their Facebook page as: "earthy and earnest tunes. sometimes hard, sometimes soft, always sincere purveyor of poppy liquid weirdness. makes its home on the porous border between dissonance and quiet beauty..." we'd be inclined to agree, as razor sharp drums and chugging guitars cut through the folky leanings of McCarthy's comparatively delicate vocals on 'About You'. Addressing the magnetic pull of friendship, McCarthy reminisces about all the special moments she spent with a friend that she was missing at the time.
